Overview

In this project I redesigned the website of a local "mom & pop" shop. Taking user cognitive functions into account, the task was to improve the website, by enhancing the site to promote a more efficient and user friendly experience compared to the original site. I redesigned the company logo as well, to promote a more well known identity and establish my redesign. As an avid skateboarder, I didn't have to look far to find a shop to rebrand. Above Board, a local skate shop in Greensboro was my target.

Using all caps text, an overlapping pattering, and bright green coloring in the main word "Above," the users eyes are drawn straight to the Identity of the shop. With a simple typeface for the word "Board," the user identifies that it is basic information or, the purpose of the company. Also, a skateboard truck can be seen under the type, assisting the users identification of the subject of the company simply by taking a glance. On the right is the company's current logo.
